PhotoLegal offers photographers legal help in podcast form

A new service of podcasts advising UK photographers about their legal rights has been launched.

PhotoLegal is the result of the collaboration between two photographers – Darren Hector and Phill Price – and a lawyer James Barisic of Everys Solicitors. ‘PhotoLegal is a podcast exploring legal issues that affect UK Photographers, from copyright and protection of images on the internet, to the thorny questions about photography in public places and current anti-terrorism laws,‘ the founders say.

The podcasts are recorded every two weeks and are available freely on the PhotoLegal website. The first recording will be available for download from this week-end and will discuss copyright issues.

BJP’s news editor Olivier Laurent will be the guest of PhotoLegal’s second podcast, which will concentrate on public photography rights and the issues raised during the G20 protests earlier this month.

Kate Day, a journalist and photographer with The Telegraph, will guest two weeks later. She will offer advise on sharing images via social networking websites.
