Withnail & I – The greatest movie of all time!
I can’t believe I have never seen nor heard of this flick before last week. A big thank you to Justin and Lisa for suggesting we watch it. It has some of the best scenes and funniest quotes I have ever heard. For example: "Balls! We want the finest wines available to humanity. We what them here and we want them now!" -Withnail "As a youth I used to weep in butchers shops" -Monty Here’s [...]

New Radiohead Album, I paid £4 but is it worth that?
Some of you will have heard about Radiohead‘s controversal new album release entitled "In Rainbows". This is their seventh studio album with their latest to date being "Hail to the thief" back in 2004. The controversy doesn’t come from the music but from the method in with it has gone to market. The band have released it via their own website with a "pay what you want" approach. I have a lot of respect for [...]

New flat, new furniture and a new mac keyboard
It’s be a while since my last post, just like any wannabe blogger. However there is a reasonably plausible excuse for this. I have moved into a new flat in Kentish Town. The new place is great and we have a roof-top terrace! We have already had the house warming party which turned out to be a great night. Anyhow, seeing as my room was unfurnished I have been frantically searching for a decent wardrobe [...]

Safari for Windows
Apple Computers Inc have now released a beta version of their popular web browser Safari, but on Windows! Anyone who uses an Apple Mac will know that Safari is a fast, standards compliant browser which gives Firefox a good run for it’s money (well not money as it’s free!). Now, it’s still in beta which means we have to wait until October 2007 for the stable release. I personally am quite excited as the Windows [...]

Making your own network cables
I got annoyed with wireless internet at home so I decided to run a cable up to my bedroom. The cheapest way to do this was to buy a pre-cut 20m CAT5e and attach the RJ45 ends myself. I borrowed the crimping tool from work and downloaded the cable diagram. I decided a good time to have a go at this would be Saturday morning when I had a massive hangover, bad idea. Anyway it [...]

Happy New Year
So we are now in 2007, it’s that time where we all have to get used to writing the new date. It’s quite surprising how long it still takes me to remember that we are in a new year. I must be getting old. Anyway, good luck to you all and I hope we can meet up soon for a drink or two. Actually, it’s my birthday this week, so if any of you feel [...]

Customised Home Pages
Some of you will have tried Google’s Personalized Home Page, this is quite good but is a little limited. Jeff showed me a custom home page site that he uses a while ago but I forgot to ask him the name of it. Tonight I found it, Netvibes. This service is really good, you can pull all your email into the page, I have my totallyrich, gmail and work email all on one screen. Some [...]
