Safari for Windows

Apple Computers Inc have now released a beta version of their popular web browser Safari, but on Windows! Anyone who uses an Apple Mac will know that Safari is a fast, standards compliant browser which gives Firefox a good run for it’s money (well not money as it’s free!). Now, it’s still in beta which means we have to wait until October 2007 for the stable release.  I personally am quite excited as the Windows world will now have two major browsers that are standards compliant.

I have installed Safari on my Windows machine at work and will give it a good bashing over the next few weeks. The one thing I can say with certainty is that Apple have made no atempt at making it fit with the Windows asthetic, it looks almost identical to the Mac version, apart from the window buttons being on the right obviously.

I’ll post some more details next week when I have had more time to play with it. Download it and have a look yourself below. Also I have included the Apple blog and ZD Net’s response.
